European inspired interior concept with natural textures and navy accents

The Atelier Alma perspective

A European eye.
A personal perspective.

Atelier Alma brings a European perspective to timeless interiors: balanced proportions, contemporary design, natural materials and considered touches of colour. Based in Nassau, Bahamas, I work locally and online worldwide, creating rooms with character and comfort for everyday living.

From refined contemporary rooms to warm Mediterranean spaces and subtle coastal influences, each direction starts with you. Each concept reflects your property and the people it welcomes, with a clear plan for what to keep, what to change and what to source within your budget.

The client wanted to move away from the darker look and create a living room that felt brighter, more welcoming and cosy. A soft ivory palette, layered textiles and warm lighting give the space a gentler atmosphere, while existing pieces help preserve its familiar character.

A room direction built around
the client's artwork and room layout.

A personal piece can lead the whole room. Here, the artwork sets the direction: warm ivory and sand create a quieter backdrop, while a restrained blue accent connects the bedding to the painting.

The new direction

Natural linen, warmer full-length curtains and a larger rug give the room a connected foundation. Blue repeats in a cushion and throw; small bronze details add warmth.

Why it works

Every colour has a role. The surrounding neutrals bring calm, and the artwork remains the focal point.

The woman behind Atelier Alma

European roots.
A worldly perspective.

Meet Janina · The European perspective

A European eye,
for everyday living.

I’m Janina, the founder of Atelier Alma. Born in Germany and based in Nassau since 2020, I bring a European eye for proportion, natural materials and considered colour to every room.

My approach begins with timeless European forms and contemporary design, shaped around your room and the pieces you love. Living in Nassau keeps me attentive to changing daylight and the connection between indoors and outdoors.

A tailored silhouette, natural linen and wood, and a deliberate accent of blue or clay can bring a room together. Coastal elements have a place when they suit the project. The aim is a space with its own character, shaped by the property and the people it welcomes.

I have lived in Germany, Greece, Chicago and the Bahamas. My residential interior design training through NYIAD, RIDQC certification and home staging training support a personal approach that connects the visual concept with everyday comfort.

“I want a room to feel considered, but never distant. European refinement for everyday living.”Janina · Founder of Atelier Alma

A few useful details

Before your project begins.

Do you offer interior design in Nassau and Paradise Island?

Atelier Alma is based in Nassau, Bahamas. In Nassau, personal consultations and appointments can also take place in person by arrangement. Share your property location and project goals so I can confirm availability, scope and fees. My online room design and styling packages also support homeowners and vacation rental hosts in Nassau, Paradise Island and beyond.

Can you help if my property is outside the Bahamas?

Yes. The service is delivered remotely. Please share your country and preferred suppliers so selections can be tailored to your location. Local availability, shipping and suitability are checked again before you purchase.

Will this increase my bookings or nightly rate?

Design can support a clearer presentation and a more comfortable guest experience. Bookings also depend on location, price, reviews and operations. I can't guarantee a change in occupancy, revenue or guest ratings.

Do you buy furniture or manage renovations?

No. These packages cover design direction and styling guidance. You order products, confirm dimensions and work with any local tradespeople you need. Structural work and regulated technical services require suitable local professionals.

What happens in the free 15 minute call?

First, complete the short enquiry for interior design, styling, home staging or home checks. I’ll review your needs and, if a call is appropriate, send a booking link within two working days. The complimentary 15 minute call covers your goals and the next step. Detailed design advice is part of a paid service. All calls require at least 48 hours’ notice between booking and the start of the call. Same day bookings are not available.

How do I enquire?

Use the project enquiry form to share your location, room, goals, timeframe and approximate budget. I’ll review your enquiry and reply within two working days. You can also book a free 15 minute call to discuss the right next step. An enquiry does not confirm a booking or commit you to a purchase.

What does the revision include?

Personal Room Design and Room Vision each include one round of changes submitted together, within the original room brief and budget. Room Vision has one round across the full concept, rather than a separate round for each item. A new style direction, extra rooms or additional views require a separately agreed scope.

What information should I prepare?

Your room photos, measured dimensions, location, how you use the room, what you want to keep and a furniture budget separate from the design fee. Please avoid sharing guest information or access codes in your initial message.
